I tried it and it seems to have worked for me.
After submitting, I looked in my Sent Items, folder, and this is what
was in the body:
Name=Mike
Street_Address=testing your mailto link sd requested
Full_Postcode=
Country=
Telephone=
E-mail=
Membership.x=12
Membership.y=8
Which is what I filled out.
And you'll see if you look at the message source of the message, that
I'm using:

Here is the link http://www.rexsphynxklubben.dk/membe_gb.html
Please try the first form (Become a member). There isn't any content
checking, so you can type in anything. Only polite messages please
:-))
I have checked it again before sending this, and all I get is a
message with
To: and Subject: boxes - no content.
Thanks for the Article link. That refers to MSN Explorer and I don't
have
that installed. I won't change the Registry until i see if I get a
form from
you.

I'm not aware of any recent changes in OE that would affect that.
Take a look at

I use XP Pro/SP2 with IE6 and OE6
I have webpages with a simple email form using the standard form
action="mailto:.......?subject=...." method="post" tag. They used
to
work
OK.
But now the email message created by clicking on Send has only the
To:
and
Subject: boxes automatically completed. The whole of the text area
is
blank.
The form used to work OK, and still does for people using them to
send
the
forms to me! I assume that something has changed in OE6 - maybe by
a
MS
Update?
