I have read the article http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=317104 and
looked
at my registry. The entry for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail
shows
(Default) REG_SZ Outlook Express.

Do I have to remove the entire text
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail
or what?

By the way, I have since remembered that when I first installed the OS etc
MSN Explorer was run. I never use it and have removed all the Start and
Programme shortcuts. It is still in the Programmes folder though.


In the left pane you have (with other entries left out):
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Software
- Clients
- Mail
Highlight Mail, then right click it and select Delete
