Do you want to get only mail from people in the AB? Change the rule to
Delete it from server, but that is risky.

If you are getting that much spam, I would get a new address and only give
it to friends and trusted sources, like banking, utilities, etc.

Use the old address for untrusted sites, like ordering online, places like
Priceline.com, Lending tree, etc.

For the old address, create two rules.

Rule 1:

Where the To line contains people
Delete it from server
Click on Contains people | Options and change it to Does not contain.

Rule 2:

Where the To line contains people
Delete it from server
Click on Contains people and add *one-at-a-time* every letter, and number,
(0-9), that is /not/ in the address.

Since this is your *throw-away* account used for online ordering, or
unsecure sites, all replier should have your address in the To field,
eliminating any mail addressed to people in the CC or BCC fields, and any
address in the To field that has a letter, or number, not in your address
will be eliminated.

This will not get rid of everything, but it will cut down on spam
significantly.

I have been in this discussion group before regarding the same subject.
However, I really need to get some type of solution to the problem we are
having with junk mail. I posted before that I set my parents up with OE.
Just last week, they received 1500 pieces of junk mail. Now, that is
totally
unacceptable. I did, as suggested, set up a filter using the address book
method, but really now. All of this junk mail just goes into their
deleted
file which still needs to be perused. I took a look at some of this junk
mail, and it is very strange, at least to my untrained eye. The entire
block
of spam was in alphabetical order and it covered every subject under the
sun.
Now, please tell me there is a reason and that it can be fixed.
