Yes, eventually the message is sent when I resend the message from the error
message - sometimes on the first try, sometimes 2 or 3 tries. I tried rolling
back to a few restore points, and it didn't help. I'm wondering if it might
be my internet connection... it used to work just fine, this started
happening about a week ago.

Indeed. No pattern at all.
Can't help without more information. Keep looking for one.
Are you saying Outlook never worked? If not, what steps did you use to break
it?
Are you saying that if you keep trying the same thing over and over that the
message is eventually sent?
That would be truly inexplicable.

Sorry - Outlook 2003, POP3, recipient selection using all methods - reply,
Contacts, manually typed in, etc., with and without attachments - there is
no
pattern at all. Thanks for your help.

Then you should probably share some relevant information if you want
help.
There is none here. The minimum would include Outlook version,
information
store, mail transport type, and recipient selection method.
Outlook is telling you it can't recognize the electronic address. Only
you
could have a clue why that would occur. You can see your Contact data. We
can't.

Hi, I get the this same error message for EVERY email I send (No
transport
provider was available for delivery to this recipient.)
- and I am not using DLs. I have to resend every message, sometimes
several
times, before it eventally gets sent. This is driving me bonkers!
"Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote:
DL's are notoriously unreliable, especially ones created in this way
because
you will receive no warning if you enter an invalid address. You can
examine
each entry and make sure the address is both valid and resolved.
Here is the way to use Categories in lieu of DL's:

Yes, all my other messages are sent correctly. What should I do to
correct
this? I noticed in a lot of the other discussions you suggest
categories
instead of DL. Where exactly to I specific the category? I did not
add
the
email addresses to my contact list, b/c I didn't have names
associated
with
them. I just added the email addresses to the DL by clicking add
new
member.
I don't want these in my contact list.

Most likely that you have a corrupt address in the DL.
Are all your other messages sent correctly?

Hi,
I am a new user of Outlook 2000. I have set up a distribution
list
but
when
I tried to send an email, I get a System Administrator message
that
says
No
transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient.
What
does
that mean?
Thanks--
