Default Preview Pane question

It is there to prevent HTML spam from verifying your address just by opening
a message. It may well be a moot point, because they probably wouldn't take
you off their list either way.

Tools | Options | Security. Uncheck: "Block images..............".

Relative to WinXP Pro {with IE6}, When viewing incoming mail in the
'preview pane,' - just beneath the Preview Pane Header, I'm greeted with:

"Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from
identifying your computer. Click to download pictures."

Is there a way to 'turn-off' this feature - and make it like pre-XP
versions? Or, am I better off this putting up with this extra
click-step?

Thanks - james
