Default Unable to open Outlook on initial installation

That worked. Thanks for the help.

Did you mean to set up an Exchange mail account as apposed to pop mail?
If not use the Mail Applet in the control Panel to reconfigure your account
or delete the old one and add a pop/smtp mail account

I recently installed Office 2007 on a new computer running Vista. Somehow
during the initial launch of Outlook, before everything was configured, I
think I selected Offline. Now whenever I start Outlook it immediately

gives
a message that says:

Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file C:\Users\Anne
Marie\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost is not an offline folder
file.

When I acknowledge the message, Outlook closes without giving me a chance

to
change the setting back to Online. I've tried everything that I can think
of, including reinstalling Office, and it doesn't seem to work.

Suggestions?
