Well in earlier versions its usually caused by either or a combination of;
1) an Add In eg synch software
2) a fax app that integrates with OL
3) AV software
I assume the same in OL2007

Sometimes I close Outlook 2007 when I'm working during the day and then

I try to open it it won't open. The other MS applications in the 2007
suite
open OK all the time. It is only Outlook that does this - maybe 2 or 3
times a day. I have to re-boot to gain access to it again.

If, after trying to launch Outlook 2007 I do a restart, the application
opens momentarily before Windows logs off and the computer restarts.
