No. You can mark them to never mark read automatically, only if opened in a
separate window. Ctrl+Q marks them read before moving them. If you want an
automatic method of moving read messages, try auto-mate. It and others are
listed at http://www.slipstick.com/addins/auto.htm#special

Otherwise, try flags or automatic formatting.
