Default need help setting up mail servers

You don't need to use a mail client (e.g. Outlook Express, Thunderbird,
etc.) in order to send pictures or links. You can do that with gmail or
Yahoo. But if you want to do the send from another program, such as IE,
you would need to set one of them as your default mail program.

I believe currently for Yahoo, you need to install Yahoo messenger in
order to make Yahoo web mail your default mail program.

How do I make Gmail my default mail application?

You can use POP3/SMTP with gmail. For details

You may run into some issue with sending via wireless depending on any
port blocking the wireless system does.

Using Thunderbird or any other mail client will have the same POP3/SMTP
issue that you have with Outlook Express.

I dont have an IPS. I use wireless signals that I pick up all around
me. But
I would like to set up POP3 and SMTP mail servers so that I can send
links,
pictures, etc. So how do I do this? I have gmail and yahoo accounts
for
e-mail. Should I download Mozilla Thunderbird and forget about
Outlook?
