Office is not part of Windows XP.
Nor does it use the same key.
Purchase of Office retail cd or a disk provided by your pc manufacturer are the normal methods to obtain Office or Outlook and a 25 digit key for activation.

Is it possible that you lost or misplaced the Office CD ?

As far as interrogating the pc for the Office key, if not activated, its not present.
