The answer to the second question is that I am not behind any
firewall(other
than the pathetic NAV 2005). I have disabled Windows firewall because two
firewalls normally cause conflicts.
= Unless NAV 2005 is part of NIS 2005, you don't have another firewall so
re-enable the Windows Firewall immediately!
Here are all of your successful posts/threads:
http://groups.google.com/groups/sear...coring=d&hl=en
I see that you never replied (or, possibly, weren't able to reply) to Steve
Cochran's post of 19 May in OE General newsgroup:
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...92e8c8f6c80364
QP
Go to Tools | Options | Read and uncheck the option to download xxx headers
at a time and that will then give you all the messages.
For the file problems go to Start | Run and type
SFC /scannow
and that will run system file checker.
/QP
= Have you done this?
= With a newsgroup open in OE = View Current view: Is "Show all
messages" checked?
In the thread to which Steve was replying, you made reference to a spyware
problem that led you to "re-install" Windows.
= Did you do a Repair Install or did you format & reinstall? Is the
machine fully patched at Windows Update?
= Is the machine in question used by guests of your hotel?

Hi. I have already answered these questions in my early posts(about a week
ago) but I don't mind repeating them. I connect to the internet with a
Forthnet (ISP) 128 Kb ISDN (2 B-channel) dial up connection. Shortly I
plan
on upgrading to ADSL 2Mb but due to technological/infrastructural
restrictions I was forced to this pathetic situation...not to mention the
burden on my pocket is tremendous when compared to ADSL!
The answer to the second question is that I am not behind any
firewall(other
than the pathetic NAV 2005). I have disabled Windows firewall because two
firewalls normally cause conflicts. Also, I do not use any proxy server(I
have verified this in internet options /advanced settings). I connect from
home!

How do you connect (e.g., dial-up; ADSL; cable; satellite; wireless
provider)? Are you behind a proxy?
Who is your ISP?
Are you trying to access the newsgroups at work? [I'm sure Michael will
have more questions.]

Ok. As far as including all the previous messages in each post I think
I
have done this perhaps with a few exceptions. Anyway, here is my

Copy/paste the last 50 or so lines of the log (covering the most recent
period) into a reply.
[To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of
previous
message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you.]
