Default Deleted folder

There is nothing you can do. The folder will be placed in the Deleted Items
folder. All I can say is to be more careful, and if you have Empty deleted
items on exit checked, uncheck it and do that manually.

You should be getting a warning message when you attempt to delete a
folder. You don't get that when you delete a folder.

Yes, I got the warning, but I was in a hurry, and I thought I had
highlighted the individual messate. So, I went ahead and pressed
the Y (Yes) key and poof the whole folder was irretrevably
deleted. I was holding the shift key down so the deletion process
completely deleted the whole folder. That is it didn't send it to
the deleted items folder.

This was just a stupid error, but this is the second time I've
done this. There must be a way to secure a folder so it can not
be deleted. That is, the Inbox, Outbox, and some others are not
deletable. How are these secured?
