Cannot connect to the mail server
Try this. On the PC that is working, open the accounts option in tools.
select the mail account and click on the button "export".
Save to a floppy or USB drive.
On the PC that is not working, go to the accounts option and click on the button "import".
Point to the file you just saved with export and now you know the two accounts are identical.
It the second PC does not work now, you have a system fault.

I have two PCs on a LAN. Both are running XP SP2, OE6, Zone Alarm and AVG.
One system fails to connect to the mail server and one works as it should.
The Error Number is 0x800CCC90.
Here is what I have done so far:
Gone to tool accountsmailproperties and compared the settings between the two PCs. They are
identical
Deleted the mail account on the faulty box and did a reinstall of the mail account.
Went to my ISPs home page and changed the password there and then went to each PC and changed to
that new password.
None of this has fixed the problem.
Oddly enough I have friend on the same ISP with the same problem and at first it was easy to blame
the ISP except that I one PC without the problem blew that idea away.
What next?
