Default Outlook backup

That's one of the exciting aspects of WinXP...you never know when search
will actually find what you are looking for.

You really must have Outlook closed (and make sure it closed "successfully")
to copy the pst file. It's like trying to copy an open database
file...shouldn't be done unless the backup utility is specifically written
to handle open files. I have a nightly batch process that backs up my pst
and if I forget to close Outlook for the night, it errors out with a "file
open" error.

Thanks, I found it in the location detailed below under my user id. I'm
not sure why a search for *.pst never brought it up.

Is there any way to copy a pst file to another workstation on the network
for backup purposes while outlook is still open? If so, I can setup an
automated backup of this file on a nightly basis

I had heard that there was a pst file on the pc, but a search of the
drive
for *.pst does not reveal the existance of a pst. I have my pc set to
show
all hidden files and folders.

The file is usually stored in
C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Application
Datas\Microsoft\Outlook
