If you go to your Sent Items folder at www.hotmail.com, you'll see:

QP
Messages more than 30 days old will be automatically deleted from this
folder.

AFAIK it's always been that way.

Just like OE's local Sent Items folder, it's best not to archive messages
here but move them to other, user-created folders for archiving. (If you
want to add a Hotmail folder, create it at www.hotmail.com, not in OE!)

We're talking about a thousand letters with all kinds of info on them
that I was saving!!!

Is this just my situation? My "paid" ($20/yr) account has not been
touched but a lot of my inbox letters no longer are in order or have
dates attached to them.

I've lost hundreds of hours of writing time with important info. Is there
anything I can do????
