Sorry for not being more specific, it is Office 2007 I am having problems
with. Yes the link you sent is what I tried previously (listed below).
- In the tools/account settings/address tab, it shows "Outlook Address Book"
MAPI....this cannot be deleted.
- In the file/folder/properties/outlookaddressbook , it does not let me tick
the box "show this folder as an e-mail address book"

I am not really sure what I need to do next.
