Default How to create new IMAP folder?

"brett" wrote in message
oups.com...
I can create a new root IMAP folder in OE6 on my work machine by right
clicking the IMAP account in the left pane and selecting new folder. I
do the same thing at home and the folder always ends up under the Inbox
as a sub folder. Both machines are running OE6 and WinXP. Any ideas
what the difference may be?

Thanks,
Brett

You can't create a root IMAP folder unless you create a new IMAP mail
account then of course you have to have the account already set up.

The only thing I can think of that happened was the Folders.dbx file may be
just confused enough to not place it correctly. It is what contains the
folder structure for all accounts.

Something you can do to test if it might be corrupt is to File | Folders |
Compact All and see if you get an error then move that dialog box out of the
way to see what file it was working on at the time. If it's Folders.dbx,
there is your problem. You would have close OE, navigate to the message
store folder then rename Folders.dbx to Folders.old then restart OE and let
it rebuild a new one.

Also, if this is the Main Identity, you may want to create a new Identity
and use it instead.
