Your're obviously running a version of Windows earlier than XP, possibly

ME
or 98, since Scandisk is replaced by Disk Error Checking in XP.

Furthermore,
your question has nothing to do with Internet Explorer or Outlook Express.

Moral: To maximize your chances of getting accurate help, always post in

the
correct newsgroup. That's where you'll find the largest concentration of
experts in your subject area.

If you have Windows ME, post he

If you have Windows 98, post he

Good afternoon all
It's only me with my computer problems - yet again

Okay here we go,I was reading the posts in OE6 newsgroups and my comp

froze
on me. I did ctrl-alt-del for a restart.

As the disks were scanning, the following error appeared : "Scandisk
detected an invalid long filename entry on this drive but was unable to

fix
it. To fix this problem, run Scandisk for Windows."

Still with me?? .

So...when my computer had logged on, I started checking the scandisk and

got
ANOTHER bloody error: "Scandisk has restarted 10 times because Windows

or
another program has been writing to this drive. Quitting some running
programs may enable Scandisk to finish sooner."

I didn't have *any* running programs at this time,so I'm stuck at what

to
do
next

Any help would be very appreciated.
