The structure of the mail folders (names and location (subfolder type, etc),
available newsgroups for each news account and subcscriubed newsgroups for
each news account are what is in Folders.dbx. Other than that, there is
nothing you want to get from it.


Also, is periodically running Compact All a good maintenance? Will it
help avoid problems in other words?


Only after a good backup would I compact. While in most cases it does
fullfills it's purpose, remove old data from the dbx files, it can screw up
the whole thing. Personally I"ve seen a compact lose all messages. That's
where a good backup comes in handy or a good recovery program.
