Default Email Notification Failure

You can run Outlook without the taskbar clutter by right clicking on the OL
icon in Notification Area and selecting Hide when minimized.

I have enabled Outlook 2007 to pop up on my screen telling me I have a email;
when i have an email - obviously.

However, this only works when i have Outlook 2007 open on my tool-bar at the
bottom. This is not practical for me as i have many other programs running at
the same time and the area becomes very clusted.

When i dont have the porgram opened Outlook fails to tell me when i have
mail. I was just wondering whether it was possible for me to make it so that
even if Outlook isnt open, it will inform me when i recieve mail? If so can
somebody please talk me through how i set it up?

Many thanks
