Try using the Tools | E-mail Accounts command to add a new address list -- the Outlook Address Book.

I have the same problem. I have a distribution list in the GAL. It is the
company's list. My personal distribution list shows only in the Contacts
folder. When I attempt to send a distribution list e-mail from the Contacts
folder, it is not activated. I have to enter each name manually.

address book and other lists appeared. I was not able to add contacts.
