Default Outlook 2007 cannot connect to POP3 Server

Thank you for the response. You are correct. This particular problem was
SAV-related, or more correctly put, Norton Internet Security-related. It
turns out that the client ordered Dell computers with the 30-day trial
version of Norton Internet Security. In the past, I have been able to
disable the Personal Firewall (the damned thing works too well!) such that it
doesn't intervene with basic operations. In this case that wasn't enough. I
simply uninstalled it as we don't need it anyway as we have a license for
SAV, which I installed. Once done, voila!. The problem was solved.

That whole trial-ware suite of garbage that comes with Dell computers, no
matter what you try to avoid, just stinks. This is a business environment.
I don't want that crapola!!!

What version of Symantec are you running? Did you upgrade recently? I am on
Symantec Antivirus Corp 10.1.6.6010 and had determained with symantec that
the Symantec Email tool (POP3/SMTP Sanp-in) was the issue. I removed that
tool for testing and issue went away. Looks like they messed up on one of
there updates that somehow hosed that feature. They are now looking into the
issue and will release a Point patch for this issue if they fix it. We were
on 10.1.6.6000. Lately Symantec has released updates that then cause other
issue. Symantec is starting to be compared to Mcaffee!
