Default Inbox folder in newsgroups???

To avoid such corruption in futu

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to
local folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a
manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/maintain.htm.

- Do not attempt to close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your
machine if Automatic Compacting is taking place (WinXP SP2 only).

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause
such corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

Hello all,

I've looked through the posts in this group and Googled but unable
to find an answer. For some reason I have a "Inbox" folder under
"Newsgroups" that I never subscribed to. I've tried to unsubscribe
and even deleted the sub-folder in my dbx folder but no joy. When I
click on the "Inbox" folder OE tries to download headers, then pops
up an error message that there's no such group on the server. Can
anyone help?? Sure would appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply. Just a few minutes ago I deleted the newsgroup
account and created a new one to get rid of the folder. HTH's someone else.
