Default Backup my threads - Best way to?

If you drag the threads into a user created folder, then they won't
automatically be deleted when they are deleted from the server, which you
have no control of by unchecking anything.

You can do a File | Save As and save them to your HDD in a folder you create
and get them out of OE all together.

Hi All,

I backup threads I'm interested in (usually the ones I initiated) by
copying them into shadow user folders I created in OE. Despite the fact
that my approach doesn't preserve the thread structure, I can still sense
that structure by viewing the shadow folders in date order. My primary
purpose is to prevent old threads from being automatically deleted.

While I could avoid the automatic deletion by un-checking that option, it
seems too wasteful of disk space. Is there a better way of backing up
selected threads?
