Default OE & Hotmail

My accounts in another identity are exhibiting the same
behavior but I'm getting a "server unavailable" error when polling here.

Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Account: '[name]',
Server: 'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata', Protocol:
HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Service Unavailable', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800CCCF0

Historically this points to problems on MSN/Hotmail's end. Till it's
automagically fixed, access your account at
www.hotmail.com.

That's odd. I've been seeing the same thing here today, but then I'm
running IE7 Beta (WinXP SP2) so I was thinking this may be playing a part
in the problem.

Are you running a beta of IE7, too?

Are you participating in the beta test of Windows Live Mail?

If you create a new identity and configure the Hotmail account in it, does
the behavior persist?

I have 2 old hotmail accounts that I have configured in OE6. In the last
couple of months I am constantly asked for my password each time I try
to check my hotmail from OE6. If I click 'inbox', I'm asked for a
password. If I click 'sent mail' I am asked for a password. If I click
'deleted', etc. I talked to hotmail support, they recommended I talk to
OE support. I insisted it is a hotmail server issue, they insisted I
talk to OE support (which charges $35.00 so I came here). Has anyone
else seen this and is there a fix? Or is this just a way for MS to
insist I go to the hotmail website so they can show me
banners/advertisements? Thanks.
