OE & Hotmail
Thanks, Pa Bear. Yes, I'm running IE7. Wonder what the deal is on the
prompting for user/pass all the time? Very irritating. Alias suggested
getting a new account with another company but I receive email with these
accounts and am lazy. Plus I like the uasername. My gmail works fine,
though. May have to weed out a few accounts if this doesn't get fixed.

That's odd. I've been seeing the same thing here today, but then I'm
running IE7 Beta (WinXP SP2) so I was thinking this may be playing a part
in the problem.
Are you running a beta of IE7, too?
Are you participating in the beta test of Windows Live Mail?
If you create a new identity and configure the Hotmail account in it, does
the behavior persist?

I have 2 old hotmail accounts that I have configured in OE6. In the last
couple of months I am constantly asked for my password each time I try to
check my hotmail from OE6. If I click 'inbox', I'm asked for a password.
If I click 'sent mail' I am asked for a password. If I click 'deleted',
etc. I talked to hotmail support, they recommended I talk to OE support.
I insisted it is a hotmail server issue, they insisted I talk to OE
support (which charges $35.00 so I came here). Has anyone else seen
this and is there a fix? Or is this just a way for MS to insist I go to
the hotmail website so they can show me banners/advertisements? Thanks.
