Default OE & Hotmail

I can confirm that Windows Live Mail beta (next-generation Hotmail,
basically) doesn't work currently in my beta version (...) of IE7 (and I
don't think it's working in Vista either). Are you beta testing Windows
Live Mail, too?

Thanks, Pa Bear. Yes, I'm running IE7. Wonder what the deal is on the
prompting for user/pass all the time? Very irritating. Alias suggested
getting a new account with another company but I receive email with these
accounts and am lazy. Plus I like the uasername. My gmail works fine,
though. May have to weed out a few accounts if this doesn't get fixed.

That's odd. I've been seeing the same thing here today, but then I'm
running IE7 Beta (WinXP SP2) so I was thinking this may be playing a
part in the problem.

Are you running a beta of IE7, too?

Are you participating in the beta test of Windows Live Mail?

If you create a new identity and configure the Hotmail account in it,
does the behavior persist?

I have 2 old hotmail accounts that I have configured in OE6. In the

I try to check my hotmail from OE6. If I click 'inbox', I'm asked for
a password. If I click 'sent mail' I am asked for a password. If I
click 'deleted', etc. I talked to hotmail support, they recommended I
talk to OE support. I insisted it is a hotmail server issue, they
insisted I talk to OE support (which charges $35.00 so I came here).
Has anyone else seen this and is there a fix? Or is this just a way
for MS to insist I go to the hotmail website so they can show me
banners/advertisements? Thanks.
