Outlook 2007 cannot connect to POP3 Server
How do I set up the outlook for sending/recieving e-mail but did not want it
to be my default e-mail program? I am getting an error during the sent
message that unable to find the e-mail server .. (ox8000cccod) error message ?

I have setup 2 new Dell computers, both running Windows XP Pro and Office
2007 that experience the same problem. After correctly configuring both the
local Exchange and remote POP3 accounts (using the same configuration info as
used on similar machines running Outook 2003 that work flawlessly), a "Send
and Recieve" results in an error 0x80042108 "Outlook cannot connect to your
incoming POP3 e-mail server".
Both computers have all MS Updates installed and are current with pertinent
patches. The dreaded Symantec Personal Firewall feature has been disabled,

The same users logged into other workstations using the identical user
account info can access both Exchange and POP3 mail, both sending and
recieving. Those users are temporarily using their old computers until I can
get a handle on this problem. They can successfully retrieve the messages
sent from the new Outlook 2007-based machines. My only other experience with
Outlook 2007 has so far been on machines running Vista Business Edition
without any problems.
Any ideas? I'm scratchin' my head over this one!
