Default can't access addressbook

Hi Smiley,

the "Outlook Addressbook" is not a file or a folder, it is a special
"filter" of your contacts.

Your contacts are stored in a "PST" file.

Search for "PST" files on the old harddisk and open this PST file in Outlook
(File/Open/Personal Folder (PST).

Now you can move/copy the contacts from the old PST file to the new one.

About the error:
"The address list could not be displayed" error message when you use your
Contacts to address a new message in Outlook"

have a look on this site :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319901/en-us

Maybe it helps.

Hi,

I have to reinstall my machine. At present there are two question.
1. how can I reinstate/import the addresses book from the old setup to the
new installation. Where can I find this old address book ? (I still have
the old disk).
2. when I tried to open address book to create new contact name, I
received the following error "the address list could not be displayed. The
Contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it
may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions, For
information on how to remove this folder from the Outlook Address Book,
see \Microsoft Office Outlook help.". This is a new installation, why this
error. Also I am the only one who logon to this machine.

Any help appreciated.
