Default OE and Outlook sharing

there is no solution assuming you have all the latest updates. if you have
all the latest updates and it still does it, there is no fix (and won't be).

Hi

Yes, I have double checked and it does work! I had to restart my machine.

Can I ask one further question .... I mentioned that I added Hotmail to
Outlook. The behaviour is strange in that when you click on the Inbox
(for example), I can see the all the expected columns, but it not in the
correct location, and then it takes 3 seconds for Outlook to "refresh" and
"move" the columns to the left of the screen so it is inline and next to
the "Folder List". When viewing my default mail account this does not
occur. The problem is that I use my Hotmail account alot and constantly
moving from the Inbox to the Bulk Mail, and folder to folder, and this is
not easy on the eye.

Is there really no solution or is there is a workaround. I am sure other
people must have the same problem. Please can you let me know your
comments.

Thanks alot in advance.

I have a dilemma: I want to use Outlook for all my mail but todate, I
found been advised that if I try to view my Hotmail account, I have to
"live" with the way the screen appears to "refresh" when you view the
Inbox and Bulk Mail. I view those 2 folders the most and hardly ever use
my default email account. This I find very diffictult on the eye. I
need Outlook because I sync all my Contacts with my mobile phone.

My initial thoughts were : I would use OE to send and receive for the
Hotmail and Default mail account. I would set it so that the email
addresses are added to the WAB and therefore it would update Outlook (I
thought, but you have advised it is not possible to enter contacts in
the WAB and expect Outlook to be updated).

Whoa, hold the phone... a.) that Slipstick article explicitly states that
new contacts entered in OE are also seen in Outlook, and; b.) I just
tried it, and it works here. (Outlook 2003; OE6)

I didn't enable it using RegEdit, though, I just used the Tools -
Options menu in the OE Address Book window.

So possibly worth another look before you write this avenue off.

Then I thought my Contacts would all be in one place and then be able to
sync with my mobile.

I also only want one Contacts list, and I want to use Outlook. What's
the best way of deleteing the WAB file - manaully select all or just
delete the WAB file itself?

Have others had the same problem and is there an easy solution?

Cheers.

You misunderstand. That key allows Outlook to share with the WAB, not
the reverse.

Hi

I am following instructions using
http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm and have entered a DWORD
named UseOutlook=1 in the registry. Then added a new Contact to OE
(ver 6) and it did not appear in Outlook (2000) default contacts
folder. The Outlook.exe is not running in Task Manager.

Any ideas as to what went wrong? Thank you.
