Backing up OE Mail files

So, if I want to preserve the email messages against the possibility of a
subsequent computer crash, I assume that this folder is sufficient.
Q1. Is my assumption correct?
Q2. I note that the Identities folder contains TWO
subfolders:\\{Gibberish 1} | Microsoft | OE, and a similar but different
{Gibberish 2} | Microsoft | OE
Each OE folder appears to hold the same files. What's going on? Can
backing up one of the sets suffice?
