After furious head scratching, Matt Cortner asked:

| files before I reinstalled. I did not go through the registry to
| make sure there were no office references though. I assume that is
| my next step, uninstall and then manually go through the registry and
| delete instances of office 2003, then reinstall but how time
| consuming is that. Is there an update or any other means to get the
| options I need to connect to my exchange server using the basic auth
| with fast connection options and entering a proxy server?
