Default Mail Merge Missing?

Well since this option simply does not just disappear for no reason, yes you
do need to provide some troubleshooting information. No one has reported
this issue.
Try to think of any changes you made to your system or Outlook profile.
Examine all your transports in the profile including the Outlook Address
Book Service and see if all are configured and running correctly. Run Detect
and Repair.

Boy, this is my day for frustration. I called Microsoft and they said for
$49 they would answer my question. This is on top of similar responses
from
laptop company - they said to call Microsoft. Anyway...

Okay, I don't know if this is what you need. Outlook 2003, Word 2003,
Windows XP Professional Edition.

I did nothing prior to losing this - it was there yesterday and now it
isn't. No upgrades, no new programs loaded, etc.

I would truly appreciate help - I didn't realize that I needed to give
additional info. Sorry.

Posting your Outlook version, Word version, and the steps used to lose
this
option would be a place to start when you post a question like this.

A weird thing is happening with Mail Merge. When I click on Tools and
then
Mail Merge, nothing happens. No dialogue box, no error message,
nothing.
A
checkmark is in front of the Mail Merge menu item under Tools.

Is there a simple fix to this? Since I can't access the Mail Merge
box, I
can't do Mail Merges through Outlook!

Thanks in advance for any help.
