Default issues receiving email

Sounds like there was something in the HTML of those messages that was
trying to run some office applications.

Thank you for the advice. When I went into the tools to try your
advice I
also checked the read all messages in plain text and this resolved the
problem. Thank you for your response.

Is that happening as the messages download, or when you view a
message?

I can't think of anything during download that would cause OE to want
to
install anything.

If you are opening an attachment in a message, that could cause OE to
want to install a program to handle the attachment.

Another thing you can try is at Tools, Options, Security, make sure
that
OE is set to the Restricted Zone. That will stop OE from trying to
run
any scripts that a message could contain.

Now if you were trying to Send a message and had told OE to
automatically spell check, that could cause OE to try to install the
spell checker from Office.

When receiving email in outlook express the windows installer pops
up
and
wants me to insert my office 2000 disk 1, I have done this and then
it
says
it can't find what it is looking for and I have to cancel the
installation.
This only used to happen once in a while when receiving mail from
certain
people but now it is becoming more frequent and when trying to
cancel
the
windows installer it closes my outlook express and sends Microsoft
an
error
report. Is there a fix I don't know about? I have searched the tech
pages
many times and several hours. Does anyone know how to resolve this
issue.
Thank you
