Default Outlook 2003 and Word as email editor - newly created emails appear under 'Word' on taskbar

It's an undocumented "feature." Over the years we've had fun watching while
Outlook and Word fight over which program takes precedence over WordMail. It
changes all the time with various version and updates and is not subject to
end user control.

One of my users has a slightly odd problem. She uses Word as email
editor (and always has done), but recently the behaviour of Outlook
has changed. Now when creates a new mail (or replies to a received
email), the minimised email appears under the 'Word' tab of the
taskbar and not the Outlook one (although open received emails still
appear under the 'Outlook' tab). Does anyone know why this happens and
how to prevent it? The version of office is 2003 (as is Windows).

Thanks.
