Default OL 2007-create a distribution list from an email

Thanks so much for your response, Brian. I've created distribution lists
before using just names from the "To" field, so this confused me when it
didn't work. But now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the distribution
lists I've created were from emails including people who were on our exchange
server, so Outlook recognized them and the email addresses (even though only
the names appear in the "To" field). Again, thanks for your response!

I have a user who would like to create a distribution list from an
email he received. We followed the instructions - selected the names
from the To field, copied, MS Office Button, under Create New Outlook
Item we chose Distribution List, then hit the Select Members button
and pasted the the names in the Members box.

The problem is that OL is not recognizing the email addresses. It
places the names in twice - once under the list of member names, and
again under the email address column. The email originated from an
email sent using a contact list in a program called "Blackboard" -
used by a lot of faculty members.

Unless you have name/address pairs so that you can see both, what you're
trying to do won't work.
