So by blocking external content such as images linked to websites,
MS killed the ability to track in this dastardly fashion. G
mostly for people who didn't know enough to look at E-mail while offline?
Microsoft assumes everyone is always online. G Haven't you noticed?
And how many users out there even know the difference?
I sure hope the ones who don't have the features which are only available
to XPsp2 users know the difference. That's mainly why I think maybe
the Work Offline option still should be mentioned occasionally
in discussions such as this one.
Actually, hardly ever read any email offline myself.
I can't break the habit. I'm not sure if I completely trust the new
mechanisms and I'm always paranoid that I might have accidentally
left an option on, e.g. while testing, that I would normally be relying
on being off. Having Working Offline set is still reassuring for me
even while just reading.
Above all, though, it is the best way to avoid accidentally sending
a partially composed message while connected.
Good practice for broadband users who can't hangup
(unless they resort to ipconfig /release etc.). EG
Robert
