3. [Control Panel Add/Remove Programs ] Set Program Access and Defaults
[Configuration that's already checked] E-mail: Select "Outlook Express"
here and make sure the "allow access" box is checked.
Please don't say "EMF" when you mean "EML" in your posts. Thank you.

Yes, I have recently installed Windows Live Mail, but I have now
uninstalled
it, so OE is my main email program. But it still won't open the .eml files
after doing the file association.

Did you recently install Windows Live Mail (not Windows Live Hotmail)?

I have no msimn.exe file listed under the OE folder, thats why I'm
having
this problem. The attachments are .eml files.

There is no msimx.exe that I ever heard of.
If you are using Outlook Express then msimn.exe is licated in
C:\Program
Files\Outlook Express
I have no idea what .omf files are or what they should be associated
with.

I need the missing msimx.exe file? So it will open the attachment with
Outlook Express...

Do you have one of the programs for Windows listed here?
http://www.fileinfo.net/extension/emf
If you do:
Save the attachment to your HDD. Right click on it and Open With |
Choose
Program. Find and choose a program that works and then check the box:
Always
use this program to open this kind of file. This should enable you to
open
these attachments in the future.
If you don't have a program listed, here is the site for IrfanView.
Download IrfanView at:
www.irfanview.com

I have received emails with .emf attachments. I understand that I
need
to
associate this file extension with msimx.exe, but this file is
missing
from
my Outlook Express folder. How do I install this missing .exe file?
