The bug is not in OE, it's in Norton. And it doesn't hit all people all
the time.
When you switch users with Norton having anti-virus or anti-spam
scanning enabled, Norton goes through a reconfiguration. Usually it
works OK, but sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work OK, OE can't
get to the mail server because Norton has inserted itself between OE and
the mail server and Norton is confused as to the mail server and/or
logon settings.

live
with the problem. For some reason I tried switching users and had no
problem
retreiving mail. Has one of the recent updates corrected this error
