Default mail comes into OE but won't SEND

Thank you for the reply. I called iinet and they helped me with the change
to 587 and two other changes so that I could SEND mail.

thank you for the prompt reply! Now please explain how I change the port

587/ RECONFIGURE THE SMTP SETTINGS---sorry for being so ignorant in this
regard. yes, I have started using the web mail service but I really don't
like it and was hoping to make the needed adjustments to OE.

Tools Accounts Mail Properties Advanced. See the "Outgoing mail
(SMTP):" box. Change it to '587'. Be advised: If your ISP *requires*
STARTTLS with port 587, you probably won't get it to work.

I can use port 587 with 'smtp.aol.com', but not with 'smtp.gmail.com'. The
former does not *require* STARTTLS, but the latter does.

MSOE only does STARTTLS on port 25. Don't know why MSFT didn't include a
STARTTLS (aka TLS) option along with SSL.
