Default mail comes in to OE but won't SEND

I can see this happening. ZA has issues of it's own with OE.

E-mail scanning in and out should always be disabled.

Is this version of ZA have an anti-virus? You should not have two AVs
running at the same time, nor should you have two firewalls running at the
same time.

And I don't. Norton's SystemWorks includes antivirus but no firewall.
ZoneAlarm Pro has the firewall.

I can understand you not wanting to throw away the $79.00 you paid, but I
have had new machines with free 90 day trials of Norton and McAfee and in
all cases, I removed the programs before setting up the computer.

Throwing away a freebie isn't the same as throwing away a $79 update to a
program that has done yeoman service up until yesterday.

If there are e-mail issues in the future, look at Norton first. It can work
fine for a long time and then suddenly, perhaps from a Symantec update,
everything goes to hell.

In some cases, Norton and McAfee have been responsible for wiping out the
entire message store.

I've had that experience with McAfee... which is why I'm with Norton's now. And
it works fine on my computer here.
