If you display the calendar in a table format (recurrence is best for this) and find the reminder, highlight it (don't open) and press "delete" does it help?

| I am unable to delete what was a recurring appointment from my Outlook
| calendar. I have tried to delete the appointment from several
| different machines and clients including OL2003, OL2007 and OWA. We
| have an Exchange 2003 server.

| The strangest thing is when I double click the appointment to open and
| edit it, it opens as an email message. I can address to another email
| address but I can not send it, the send button is grayed out.
