Security Options Question
If it is checked, in some messages with HTML graphics, above the message you
will see:
Some pictures have been blocked to prevent the sender from verifying your
computer.
Some spam with graphics contain bots that will verify that your e-mail
address is a valid one just by opening the message. That is what Block
Images is meant to prevent by giving you the option to delete the message
before revealing the graphic.

Hi Everyone,
I have a general question about setting security options in OE6.
In Options - Security, there's a choice for downloaded images (Block
images
and other external content in HTML email). What is the actual point or
advantage in checking this? If a person keeps their security software
up-to-date and knows not to click on links or open attachments in emails
from
unknown senders, is that not enough? What is the actual risk or danger of
clearing this option?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
--- Gary
