News server

You could increase the server timeout for the news server to reduce the
frequency of the warning. Try a minute or two. (Tools, Accounts, News,
Properties, Advanced). Each server has its own timeout value.
The timeout is how long OE will wait for a response from the server before
it considers that there is a problem.
That you get the warning often suggests that your ISPs news server is too
busy. Going to another news server won't necessarily be any better.
ok but I can't understand why, after going in timeout and receiving the
warning message, I choose not to wait anymore and immediately click on the
news and immediately I'm able to get it... On the basis of this behaviour
you understand that it is better to choose the minimum timeout value and
actually I did so by moving the timeout value from 1' to 30" (the minimum) -
moreover if it were possible I'd choose lesser values and I'm almost sure
that the behaviour would be the same. Maybe the server is configured in
order to immediately satisfy clients gone in timeout and so I could force
the server to satisfy ME before the others (I know this is not fair:-)
