Default Office 2000 contacts

If you try a different view, such as Phone List, can you see all the data?

Is the Contacts Folder set to be an address book?

Recently my outlook.pst file exceeded 2Gb and i had to use a utility to
minimise the file size. Aftr, I removed all the information in my "deleted
items" file to get some "operating space". This process has affected my
contacts pages of Outlook.. Viewing my contacts pages, where there should
be
a contact name is a beige colored block. The email address is not visible.
If
i double click to open the contact information, all the required fields
are
viewable, including the contact name. If I click on the address book icon,
all the contact information is visible.
I have tried importing a backup of my address book (Windows CSV file) but
am
having no joy. If I try and retype the contact, the name portion still
disappears on the contacts page. I have viewed all the mapping options
when
reinstating the .csv file and and they are all correctly mapped. However,
the
first line of the street adress is showing up on the email 2 address line.

Any help out there willing to take a crack at this
