Default Error 421: Message Rejected

Are you getting the exact same error message, including the

Server Response: '421 Message rejected'?

Like the original poster, are you sending to more than one person in the
message?

Look in your Outbox folder in OE. If there are any messages being sent
to more than one person (TO, CC and BCC combined), delete the messages
and see if you can send.

I am having a similar problem with charter.net. I can not send
anything, but
I receive just fine. I got the same response from charter.net about
it being
an outlook express problem. Anyone have any more ideas????

We use
charter for e-mail. Can receive mail fine and can send out to one
recipient.
Cannot send to a distribution list (group). This particular group
has
around 25 members. I get the message:

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Testing', Account:
'pop.charter.net', Server: 'mail.charter.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '421 Message rejected', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error:
421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

Does anyone have a clue? I have called charter, but their standard
response
is if you can do it through the web client, then it isn't our
problem. I
think it is something to do with their spam blocking, but maybe it
could be
an outlook express problem.

Thanks in advance.
