Create global dist groups from personal contacts
For parts 3 and 4 of your question:
3. Failure of Word to pull up your Outlook Contacts means you have not
configured your Outlook Address Book Service correctly. The KB tells you
how:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002
4. DL's will always expand when a messages is sent. If you want to hide
recipients, you use the BCC field instead of the To: field.

You are not asking an Outlook question. You are asking about Exchange and
the AD--completely different groups.

I am an admin at a High School. i run exchange server 2003 and a mixture
of
Outlook 2003 and 2007 as clients.
i can export to an access file a list of names and email addresses from
our
info database, and then import them into an Outlook contacts subfolder,
and
then create a distribution group within it. is there a way to get that
list
to the Global address list or publish it to other users inside of my
network
so they can use it as well? am i going about this in the right way?
also, when i went into word (2007) and tried to mail merge and connect to
the outlook contacts, it gave me a message telling me it couldn't find
the db.
as a side question, if i use this dist list in the To: line and don;t
click
the plus sign to reveal the members of the dl, do those addresses appear
to
the recipients? if not, i don't need to use the word-merge route.
