Just a follow up note in reference to my earlier post and those offering help.
One of the things I noticed in trying to use URL posted for me
[
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/probl....htm#550relay] pertains to the
checking of the "Store" folder. I don't even have a folder named "Store" in
my system. In fact, in the "Application Data Identities" section, what
appears is the folder (just one) with a lot of letters and numbers, and
inside that there's only two folders. One is "Outlook" and the other is
"Outlook Express." I have not ever used the program "Outlook" by the way, so
not sure why it installed unless it is a part of Windows XP. Both of those
folders are empty (see note below abt. removing the dbx files), no other
folders exist there.
I did try to fix this problem by removing all of the DBX files from the
Outlook Express folder -- stored them in another folder on my desktop for
now. Should I create a folder with the heading of "Store" in the Outlook
Express folder and try putting these back into that folder? Or should I just
reload WinXP again?
Hoping to get this working, sure would like all of my mail in one area as
well as access my newsgroups. sigh Maybe I should have kistened to the
technicians and just stayed with Windows 98 SE?
