Default Adding Contacts to a Journal Entry

I did this by adding the "New Journal Entry for Contact" action to the Quick
Access Bar.

To do this open any contact and click the little down arrow at the very top
of the window.

Then choose "More Commands..."
Click "All Commands" from the "Choose commands from:" drop-down selection
Scroll all the way down to "New Journal Entry for Contact" and click the
"Add" button.
Click OK.

Now it will be in your Quick Access Bar on any contact that you open.

What about adding a Journal entry to an open contact? In 2003 you could
choose "Make Journal Entry". I'm not willing to make most of my contacts
automatic journal entries, but would still like the feature that creates a
journal entry for the contact I am looking at.

Probably because many of its functions have been supplanted by Activities.

Excellent! Thank you very much. I had tried everything I could think of.
Journal is completely under appreciated and supported as far as I am
concerned.

By design. You can still add it in Tools Options Preferences
Contact
options:
Do you see "Show Contact Linking on all Forms?"
If so, select it.

How do I add several contacts to an already created Journal entry. In
Outlook
2003 there is a contact line at the bottom of the Journal entry. It
seems
absent in 2007.
