Default Outlook Won't Install

Did I say anything about uninstalling Outlook? I said to use the repair option. What happens if you go back and try it again, this time following the directions I posted?

After furious head scratching, The Inquirer asked:

| I followed your advice but I received a message that said,
| "installation ended prematurely because of an error" and then it says
| "fatal error during installation". All of my other office
| applications work fine. I designated the repair to uninstall Outlook
| only but I receive the same message. Should I remove office from my
| computer and reinstall? What will happen to all of my office files
| while doing so? Please help. I need a resolution. I use my
| applications for work. Thank you

| Go to Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs and select Microsoft Office
| (version) 2003. Click on Change. On the next screen, select repair.
| Ensure you have your Office 2003 disk handy.

|| Problem: My Outlook suddenly stopped functioning. When I try to
|| launch it, I receive an error message that says "preparing to
|| install" then I get a message that says, "Operation failed due to
|| installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again." I tried to
|| start the "OSE" service in the Administrative Tools / Services /
|| Office Source Engine. I configured the startup type to "automatic"
|| and the the "service status" to start, but to no avail. Outlook

|| Any advice or help will be appreciated. Thank you
